Quality Trailers = Efficient, Reliable Hauling

Commercial hauling requires reliable transportation for both the driver and the cargo en route to ensure safety on the road and timely delivery.

Flat deck trailers are a great, versatile choice for upgrading your fleet, as they can be used to transport various types of cargo, have excellent weight distribution, and enough space to accommodate larger loads in one go.

You can efficiently transport heavy loads, such as construction materials, vehicles, and heavy-duty equipment, with excellent control and handling on the road. The open design of these trailers also allows for simplified loading and unloading from any side.

With the right trailer model and brand, you can improve your fleet’s efficiency and reliability, and provide higher-quality service to your customers by delivering goods undamaged and on time.

What to Consider When Buying a Flat Deck Trailer

There are a lot of details that go into selecting the right trailer for your worksite. In addition to considering the standard build quality and warranties, you also need to think about how your trailer will be used day to day and the specs that will make it a reliable and efficient hauler for your worksite.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when looking for a flat deck trailer:

Trailer size: The trailer size you require is one of the first things to consider when reoutfitting your fleet. You can find flat deck trailers in a variety of sizes.

Standards can be found around 18ft, 20ft, and/or 24ft, with the largest going up to 53 ft. The size you select is heavily dependent on the type of cargo you regularly load and transport, as well as the compatibility with your tow vehicle.

Tow capacity: One of the most important factors when choosing a trailer is ensuring its GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) and payload capacity are compatible with the towing limits of the vehicles in your fleet.

Axles & configuration: Your trailer’s axles must support both the weight of your haul and your preferred wheel assembly type.

Most flat-deck trailers feature heavy-duty double axles to support heavy cargo, such as agricultural machinery, lumber, steel beams, and more, which is generally transported on flat decks.

Make sure to select a configuration that is permissible for Canadian long-haul requirements.

Hitch styles: Standard flat-deck trailers are available with a gooseneck or bumper-pull hitch. Gooseneck is fairly standard for larger commercial operations and attaches to the bed of a pickup truck. Bumper pull is compatible with more vehicles because it hitches to the rear and extends behind the tow vehicle.
